Summer - 2021 NP Wanderlodge Trip - South to Hobbs, NM

Once we had all checked in Casper in Stewart & Stevenson, Was time to head south to get ahead of rains in Colorado causing record flooding in Western Mountains of CO.

We canceled our pre-paid RV park in Glacier, Glacier Meadow RV Park, $60 a night, 10 nights, and already was overcharged $60 and they charged us $60 to cancel. SO we ended getting $540 back from $660 paid. Would not book again, as took a month to get our refunds & they did not refund today amount paid. They were given a week notice for canceling. Not worth effort, just will recommend, nor book again.

Also canceled:

Helena MT KOA, booked for 7/29/2021 - full refund - $58.33

Three Forks MT KOA, booked for 8/9/2021 - full refund - $68.04

Sheridan KOA, booked for 8/10/2021 - full refund - $57.86

AB Camping & RV Park booked for 8/11/2021 - not required to prepay - cost $43.00

Raton KOA, booked for 8/12/2021 - full refund - cost $40.74

Then I moved the Lubbock, Tx; Fredericksburg, TX; San Antonia, TX; Houston, TX; Greenwood, LA - RV Park reservations back to accommodate the cancelations above.

We left Casper, 7/30/2021 headed south to Cheyenne, called AB Camping & RV Park, nothing available due to Cheyenne Frontier Days, so we will target Fort Collins Walmart.

Fort Collins - 7.30.2021

1) Miles traveled from Casper to Fort Collins, 221 miles, Miles traveled from home 3,130 miles.

2) Fuel purchased outside of Cheyenne $ $617.14 on pump, paid $ 585.70, a savings of $35.38.

3) Walmart parking lot $0

4) Supper was made in the Bird, Charcutier and nice bottle of red. B'fast Starbucks before heading south.

Walmart has signs posted on every light pole about no overnight parling, but as you can see he outer parking lot by the Starbucks & Medical clinic is filled with RV's and Tractor/Trailer rigs. After obtaining Starbucks coffee and croissants, we head south.

Pueblo South KOA, CO - 7.31.2021

1) Miles traveled from Fort Collins to Pueblo South, 174 miles, Miles traveled from home 3,304 miles.

3) Pueblo South KOA $54.10, we stayed one night

4) Supper was at a BBQ place at the exit for the KOA; a home run - High Octaine BBQ. Good food, nice drinks. About a kilometer from our KOA.

Lubbock, TX - 8.1.2021

1) Miles traveled from Pueblo South to Lubbock, TX 436 miles, Miles traveled from home 3,740 miles.

2) None

3) Lubbock KOA $45.00, we stayed one night. Nice R park on the southwest loop

4) Supper was French Onion Chicken in the Bird.

Hobbs, NM - 8.2.2021

1) Miles traveled from Lubbock, TX to Hobbs, NM 117 miles, Miles traveled from home 3,857 miles.

2) None

3) We parked our Bird at our friends house in front of their house. Stayed with them 2 nights. Donna & Mike Ryan. I worked with Donna in AM Admissions & PACU at UAB for about 4 years. She left to be with her husband Mike, a Lead contractor on major projects all over the eastern US. Mike builds hospitals, and Donna is a talented artist and RN. We enjoyed 2 days of visiting, reliving work and visiting Hobbs. Had a wonderful visit!
