Leaving Houston is bittersweet, no more destinations with a to-do list, just get to our last 2 CG and no troubles.

We have had:

1) Gauges with misleading readings, Temp shows reading hot, get the engine department open and radiator water hose reads normal. After checking 4 times on the road, it seemed to right itself.

2) What we thought was transmission troubles that turned out to be water in the fuel, after tutorials how to milk the raycor at the end of a travel day, no more troubles there

3) Malfunctioning brand new Dometic air conditioners. (replaced in June on this trip 6.19.2021) Our last 2 weeks was with minimally functioning kitchen unit.

4) The famous raycor air leak that was our nemesis in Wyoming.

Greenwood, LA - 8.11.2021

Leaving Houston we took I-610 to I-10 to Texas 96 to Texas 59 to Texas 79 before crossing into Louisiana about 7 miles out of Greenwood, LA.

Houston skyline was fabulous merging onto I-610, our last view before Houston is in the rearview mirror.

1) No fuel purchased

2) 222 miles driven today; 4,710 miles traveled so far from home. We will head East until Meridian then northeast on I-59..

3) Southern Living RV Park, easy access to I-20 and $35.00 a night. I would come back here, easy in & out. Great laundry and management. Our site has full hookups with 50Amp electric. Pool and playground.

4) We drove into Shreveport in search of Cajun food, and found it in an old service station, MP or Marilynn's Place. Known for their beignets, we were not disappointed. Jambalaya, Red Beans & Rice and bread pudding. An order of those beignets to go.

Meridian, MS - 8.12.2021

1) No fuel purchased

2) 320 miles driven today; 5,030 miles traveled so far from home. Tomorrow we head northeast on I-59. Home tomorrow . . .

3) Bonita Lakes RV Park, easy access to I-20 and $27.00 a night. I would come back here, easy in & out. Our site has full hookups with 50Amp electric. Pool and playground and overnights that can be rented in a caboose

4) Supper tonight was the local Olive Garden, love the salad.

Rainbow City, AL - 8.13.2021 . . . Home Sweet Home

Up and out early this morning, thick fog greeted us at the Alabama border. We were home by 1PM.

1) Filled up at Petro in Attalla prior to tucking Ms Ellen in the Bird Nest. Fuel cost at pump $567.66, paid $483.59; saved $94.13

2) 208 miles driven today; 5,238 miles traveled round trip from home.

3) Back in the Bird Nest

4) Supper at home tonight.

Thank you for traveling along!

More travels to chronicle . . until next time
